First-Semester Entry is the process through which current first-year UGA students in their first semester at the university may apply for acceptance into the Honors Program. The first-semester entry application process is the only opportunity that current UGA students have to apply for Honors acceptance.
The application for current high school students is open Dec. 1 to Feb. 1. The Honors Program seeks applicants with a strong balance of academic achievement in challenging curricula supported by success on either the SAT or ACT.

The only class you have to take for the honors program is HONS 1001, which is like a small freshman seminar that's taught by an upperclassman to teach you about the stuff the honors program offers and scholarships and stuff.
